I've developed some sketches for the cage people and the flying scene background after having seen both mine and group's researches

while for the dark faces of the people who form the cage I was thinking about Bacon as a source of inspiration

following Nikki idea for the background I post some images from my research.
I think we should do something original and follow our inspiration further realism and create a fantastic world populated by strange planets and creatures.. it's an idea which needs to be discussed!

Here I've upload some of my initial sketches for our man character and "cage-people". this is a starting point, I'll keep working on them, trying to unify my ideas, group's ideas and sources of inspiration.

what about something like this for when she is flying and the balloon pops?? (not consider the feet :))

I think we have to think clearly about the scene when the girl is flying with the balloon, what kind of setting are we looking for? how much we want to show? are we going to keep black and white (I would prefer)?
